Effective 18 July 2026
Privacy Policy
Alarm AI is built to keep your data on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking.
The short version
- Your alarms, rules, presets, and locations never leave your device. They are stored locally and are not synced to us or anyone else.
- We collect a small set of anonymous usage counts to understand which features are used. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.
- We never collect your precise location, alarm names, or alarm times.
Data stored on your device
Alarms, condition rules, presets, saved locations, forecast snapshots, and the activity log are stored in a local database on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes this data. We have no copy and no way to access it.
Weather lookups
To check your conditions, the app requests forecasts from Open-Meteo, a weather data provider. These requests include the coordinates of the location being checked (like any weather app) but no identity: no account, no name, no advertising identifier. Open-Meteo's own terms and privacy practices apply to those requests. Weather, marine, and geocoding data © Open-Meteo.com, licensed CC BY 4.0.
Anonymous analytics
The app sends a small set of anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service that anonymises data by design. These signals are feature counts — for example, how many alarms have rules enabled, which condition types are used, and whether presets are used. They include, at most, a coarse region (such as "Queensland, Australia") derived from data already on your device — never coordinates, place names, alarm labels, or alarm times.
Signals are keyed by a rotating anonymous identifier that cannot be linked to you. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell or share them, and they are not combined with data from any other company. This is not "tracking" as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, which is why the app never shows a tracking prompt.
Opt out any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage.
Location permission
Location access is optional and used only when you choose "Use Current Location" to set an alarm or default location. It is requested as While-Using-the-App, resolved to a place on your device, and stored locally. The app never requests Always access and never reads your location in the background beyond checking conditions for locations you configured.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No advertising, ad SDKs, or data brokers
- No selling or sharing of personal information
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking
Children
Alarm AI is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If our practices change — for example, if a future version adds optional paid features — this policy will be updated here first, with the effective date above.
